Perché tutto non andasse perduto, dopo anni abbiamo deciso di ri-pubblicare il secondo - e ultimo - lavoro discografico autoprodotto della prima formazione del Collettivo Ginsberg (2008-2010). Questo disco avrebbe dovuto essere il secondo capitolo di una trilogia (Big Bang sarebbe stato il titolo del terzo lavoro), mai portata a conclusione, perché dal 2011 le nostre strade si divisero, la formazione originale non esisteva più. Tutto scorre, come un fiume, ci rincontreremo giu al mare.

E’ una profondissima passione per il blues a muovere, da sempre, il Collettivo Ginsberg alla ricerca di una vena artistica personale, di un territorio proprio in cui poter concretamente sperimentare, con il suono, che le emozioni non vanno solo custodite, ma anche donate agli altri.
Di stanza tra Cesena e Forlì, il quartetto non fa mistero della sua passione per Nick Cave e Tom Waits, artisti la cui eco (soprattutto quella di Re Inchiostro – “Maudì”) non manca di farsi sentire lungo tutta questa loro seconda fatica, apprezzabile esempio di mal de vivre messo in musica che, nondimeno, nasconde più di una traccia di speranza, fino alla vivacità estemporanea (e del tutto fuori luogo!) di “The Farm”.
Il buon Waits fa capolino, invece, in “Yama”, brano che, messi da parte gli umori crepuscolari e sonnambuli della prima sezione, si avventura, con buona devozione, in pieno territorio “Frank’s Wild Years”. Una sottile lamina di disperazione taglia in due la sommessa, quasi “religiosa” dissertazione di “I’m Waiting (Tango Nero)”, cui la fisarmonica dona quel tocco di polverosa malinconia che il cuore gradisce di gusto.
Un pianoforte molto Paolo Conte porta, invece, su vivaci territori jazz la dimessa elegia di “Woodstock Cypress”, mentre clarinetto e violoncello donano quel tocco di magica atemporalità alla tenera ballata di “Child Eyes”.
Un ascolto piacevole, consigliato soprattutto in queste giornate di pioggia che sembrano non finire mai.

To keep everything from being lost, after years we decided to re-release the second - and last - self-produced record of the first formation of the Ginsberg Collective (2008-2010). This record should have been the second chapter of a trilogy (Big Bang would have been the title of the third work), never completed, because since 2011 our paths were divided, the original formation no longer existed. Everything flows, like a river, we will meet again at the sea.

It is a very deep passion for the blues that has always moved the Collettivo Ginsberg in search of a personal artistic vein, of a territory of its own in which to be able to concretely experiment, with the sound, that emotions are not only kept, but also donated to the others.
Stationed between Cesena and Forlì, the quartet makes no secret of his passion for Nick Cave and Tom Waits, artists whose echo (especially that of King Ink - "Maudi") does not fail to be felt along all their second, appreciable effort example of mal de vivre put into music which, however, hides more than a trace of hope, up to the extemporaneous (and totally out of place!) liveliness of "The Farm".
The good Waits peeks out, however, in "Yama", a song that, set aside the twilight and sleepwalk moods of the first section, ventures, with good devotion, into the full "Frank's Wild Years" territory. A thin sheet of despair cuts the subdued, almost "religious" dissertation of "I'm Waiting (Black Tango)" in two, to which the accordion gives that touch of dusty melancholy that the heart likes with taste.
A very Paolo Conte piano, on the other hand, brings the discreet elegy of "Woodstock Cypress" to lively jazz territories, while clarinet and cello give that touch of magical timelessness to the tender ballad of "Child Eyes".
A pleasant listening, especially recommended on these rainy days that seem to never end.
